Church, School, Work, Church, School, Work....

That's basically what my life is like right now! School is keeping me incredibly busy. I am taking four classes this semester- Math 098 (a remedial math, elementary algebra- I didn't do too well on the placement test), English 101, General Psychology 210, and Anatomy and Physiology 1 (Bio 201).

I love A&P... but it is definitely a beast of a class. We have our first Lab Practical (test over everything we covered in lab) next week, and I am terrified. I hope I don't fail. It is going to be over everything in Unit 1 of our textbook- all the anatomical terms, body cavities, tissues... everything. I hope I don't panic and forget where the kidneys are located- a friend of mine had her first practical yesterday. Stations were set up around the lab and they had one minute to identify each organ, or use proper anatomical terminology to identify different body parts. Did you know that "mental" is the proper term for "chin"? I didn't either until a few weeks ago!

I had my first math test this past Tuesday. I aced it :). I'd say math is probably my second-favorite class, tied with psychology. I don't care for English and I'm thankful that for now, I only have to take English 101. When I go back for my bachelors I'll have to take 102 but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. It's not a hard class, I just don't enjoy it as much as the others for some reason. I turned in my first essay a few days ago, and I'm hoping I did well on it.

I don't spend as much time with work as I do studying for school or Church. Luckily my job isn't one that requires a whole lot of commitment- I'm a waitress part-time. I do enjoy it for the most part but.... ehh. It's not what I want to do forever, which is why I've decided to go back to school.

Church is an absolutely amazing part of my life. I've decided, after years of careful consideration, to join the Catholic Church. In addition to my studies for school, I am also spending this year in the RCIA program at a local parish learning about the Church. For the first time in a long, long time... I feel as though I am on my way home.
